Campaigns on WhatsApp

Send a group of opted-in guests a personal offer on WhatsApp, one tap per guest, and see how many came back.

Campaigns (under Growth → Campaigns) help you bring guests back with a personal offer. You choose a group of guests, what to give them and what to say. AirQR builds each guest's message and code, and you send them on WhatsApp one by one. Owners and managers can run campaigns. Campaigns are included in the Growth plan and above, and in the free trial.

Who gets campaign messages

Campaigns only include guests who agreed to receive offers and have a phone number on their profile. Guests opt in by ticking the offers box when they order, or you can switch on Agreed to receive offers (WhatsApp / SMS / email) on their profile in Guests. Only switch it on if the guest really agreed.

If nobody in a group has opted in, you'll see "Nobody in this group has opted in to offers yet."

Guest groups you can target

Pick one group under Who. Some groups have a number you can change:

  • Everyone who opted in
  • Haven't visited in a while: set Days since last visit (default 30).
  • Regulars: set At least this many visits (default 5).
  • Big spenders: set Lifetime spend at least (default ₹5,000).
  • New guests (last 30 days)
  • Birthdays this month
  • Have points to spend: set At least this many points (default 100).

The counts next to each group use the default numbers. The final list is built when you create the campaign.

Creating a campaign

  1. Go to Campaigns and click New campaign.
  2. Give it a Name (for example "We miss you").
  3. Choose Who.
  4. Choose a Reward:
    • A personal, single-use code for each guest: set % off the bill or Amount off, an optional Minimum bill, and Valid for (days).
    • An existing coupon code: pick one of your active offers that has a code.
    • No offer — just a message.
  5. Edit the Message. You can use {name} (first name), {code}, {restaurant}, {link} (your online ordering page) and {expiry}. A ready message is filled in for each group, with a preview.
  6. Click Create campaign.

How personal codes work

With a personal reward, every guest gets their own code, for example WEMIS-7KQ2P. Each code:

  • works once, on the whole bill,
  • expires after the number of days you chose,
  • isn't shown on your menu, and doesn't appear in Offers & coupons or count toward your active offer limit.

Guests enter the code in their cart, or staff enter it on the check.

Sending the messages on WhatsApp

AirQR doesn't send campaign messages automatically yet. Messages open WhatsApp one guest at a time, from your phone or computer. Automatic bulk sending will come with the WhatsApp Business integration.

On the campaign page:

  1. Click Send next (name). WhatsApp opens with that guest's message and code filled in.
  2. Press send in WhatsApp.
  3. Come back and click Send next again for the next guest.

You can also click WhatsApp on any row. Guests you've opened are marked Sent, and guests who used their code are marked Used. Click CSV to download the list with names, phones, codes and messages.

Campaign results

The Campaigns list shows each campaign's group, date, how many were sent (for example "12 / 40 sent"), and the orders and sales that came from it. Open a campaign to see Recipients, Sent, Orders from it and Sales from it. Orders count when a guest uses the campaign's code.

To delete a campaign, open it and click Delete. Unused personal codes stop working. Codes already used stay in your reports.

Tips and troubleshooting

  • Send to one group at most once a week, so guests don't feel spammed.
  • The group count is 0. Fewer guests have opted in than you think. Ask for opt-in at the table and on orders.
  • "Pick an offer that has a coupon code." For An existing coupon code, first create an active offer with a code in Offers & coupons.
  • WhatsApp opens but nothing is sent. That's expected. You must press send in WhatsApp.
  • The code in the message is blank. You chose No offer — just a message, so remove {code} from the text.
  • Campaigns is missing from the menu, or shows a lock or "This module is off". The Campaigns module is off (owners turn it on in Settings → Modules), or it isn't in your plan (Growth and above, or an add-on). See I can't see a page or a menu item. Campaigns also need Guest CRM on.
