Offers and coupon codes

Create happy hours, coupon codes, buy-one-get-one and spend-and-save deals, and find out why an offer didn't apply.

The Offers & coupons page (under Growth → Offers & coupons) is where owners and managers create discounts: happy hours, coupon codes, buy-one-get-one, first-order and spend-and-save deals. AirQR checks every discount itself when the order is placed, so guests can't fake one. Offers are included from the Starter plan up. Starter allows 3 active offers at a time. Growth, Pro and the free trial have no limit.

Creating an offer from a template

The fastest way is one of the six templates at the top of Offers & coupons:

  • Happy hour: 20% off chosen dishes, Monday to Friday, 5–7 pm.
  • Happy hour 1+1: buy one, get one free on chosen drinks, 5–7 pm (see Happy hour).
  • Coupon code: 10% off the bill with a suggested code, capped, once per guest.
  • Buy 1 get 1: the cheapest item free in every pair.
  • First order: a flat amount off a new guest's first order above a minimum.
  • Spend & save: a flat amount off above a bill amount.

Click a template, change what you need, and click Create offer. To start from scratch, click New offer. The top of the page shows how many offers are active out of your plan's limit, for example "2 / 3 active".

Offer settings explained

  • Name and Description (optional): guests see these on your menu and bill.
  • Discount: % off, Amount off or Buy X get Y. For Buy X get Y, set Buy and Get free. The cheapest items in each group are free.
  • Max discount: an optional cap on a percentage discount.
  • Applies to: Whole bill, or Selected dishes (pick whole sections or single dishes; leave empty to include every dish). Buy X get Y always applies to dishes.
  • Minimum order: the bill (after other offers) must reach this amount.
  • Coupon code: leave empty to apply the offer automatically. Type a code (3–24 letters, numbers, - or _) or click Suggest. Codes are not case-sensitive, and each code can only belong to one offer.
  • Where: Table QR, Online orders and/or In-store (POS). If you have several outlets, you can also choose which outlets.
  • Add a schedule (days, hours, dates): Days of the week, From/Until times, and Start date/End date.
  • Total uses (across all guests) and Uses per guest.
  • First order only: only for guests ordering for the first time.
  • Show on the menu: shows the offer as a banner on your guest menu, with the code if it has one.
  • Active: on or off.

Uses per guest and First order only work by phone number, so guests must enter one to get these offers.

Automatic offers vs coupon codes

  • Automatic offers (no code) apply by themselves whenever the rules match, on the channels you picked. Staff don't need to do anything.
  • Coupon codes apply only when someone enters the code. Guests type it under Have a coupon code? in their cart. On the POS, a cashier or manager opens the check and enters it under Coupon code, then taps Apply. Staff can remove a wrong offer with the small cross next to it on the check.

How offers combine:

  • Each dish gets the single best dish offer. Offers don't stack on one dish.
  • One whole-bill offer applies, on the total after dish offers. A valid coupon code wins over automatic whole-bill offers.

When a guest is close to a minimum, the cart can show a nudge like "Add ₹120 more for …".

Offers on your guest menu

With Show on the menu on, the offer appears as a banner on your QR and online menu (up to six banners). Automatic dish offers with no minimum also put a badge such as "20% off" on the dishes they cover, with the new price. Offers with a schedule still show outside their hours but only apply during them.

Offer status and results

Each offer in the list shows a status: Live, Live · scheduled hours, Scheduled (start date not reached), Ended, Fully claimed (total uses reached) or Paused. Use the switch to pause or resume an offer.

Next to each offer you see its uses, discount given and sales over the last 30 days. A line above the list totals it up: orders that used an offer, discount given and sales from those orders.

The ⋯ menu lets you Edit, Duplicate (the copy starts paused, without the code) or Delete. If an offer was ever used, deleting it archives it instead, so your reports stay correct.

Why didn't an offer apply?

The guest or staff member sees a reason. Common ones:

MessageFix
That code isn't valid.Check spelling, or that the offer has that code.
This offer isn't running any more. The offer is paused. Switch it on.
This offer is only for table orders / online orders / in-store billing.Add the channel under Where.
This offer isn't valid at this outlet.Add the outlet under Where.
This offer hasn't started yet. / This offer has expired.Check Start date and End date.
This offer runs on … / This offer runs …–…Outside the days or hours set.
This offer has been fully claimed.Total uses reached. Raise it.
Add your phone number to use this offer. The guest must enter a phone number.
This offer is for first orders only. The guest has ordered before.
You've already used this offer.Uses per guest reached.
Add … more to use this code. The bill is under the Minimum order.
This code doesn't apply to the items in your order.None of the chosen dishes are in the order.

Also check that another, bigger offer isn't already covering the same dish or the bill. On the POS, when working offline, offers are applied once the check syncs.

Plan limits for active offers

Starter allows 3 active offers at once. When you reach it, New offer and the templates are greyed out and you'll see a message to upgrade. Pause an offer to free a slot, or upgrade in Plan & billing (see Plans and billing). Personal codes made by campaigns don't count toward this limit.
