Using AirQR in Hindi

Switch the staff dashboard to Hindi for yourself or for one shared device, and understand what stays in English.

Every staff screen in AirQR is available in English and Hindi (हिन्दी). Each person can pick their own language, and shared screens such as the kitchen display or the counter POS can be set per device. This is separate from the languages your guests see on the menu.

How do I switch my dashboard to Hindi?

  1. Click your avatar (your initials or photo) at the top right of any dashboard page.
  2. In the profile menu, under Language, pick हिन्दी (or English to switch back).

The dashboard changes at once. The choice is saved to your account, so it follows you on every phone, tablet or computer you sign in on. It only changes the language for you; other staff keep their own choice.

How do I set the language on a shared kitchen, POS or time clock device?

Shared screens (the Kitchen display, Point of sale, Print station and the Time clock tablet) have a Device language option in the avatar menu, under Language:

  1. Click your avatar at the top right.
  2. Under Device language, choose English or हिन्दी.

This sets the language for this device only, and it overrides the language of whoever is signed in on it. For example, the kitchen tablet can show Hindi while the manager's own account stays in English. Choosing a language under Language (your own) clears the device setting.

What stays in English?

Some things stay in English on purpose, even when the screen is in Hindi:

  • Printed KOTs and bills (kitchen tickets, receipts, X and Z reports), so every printer and kitchen reads them the same way.
  • Messages sent to other people, such as WhatsApp messages.
  • Exports: CSV files, GST files and Tally files.
  • Your own business data: dish names, category names, offer names and staff positions appear exactly as you typed them.
  • Most of the sign-in page.

You can still search with ⌘K (Ctrl+K) using the English page names while the dashboard is in Hindi.

How do guests see the menu in Hindi or other languages?

The guest menu language is separate from the staff dashboard language. Guests choose their language on the menu itself, from the languages your outlet offers.

  1. Go to Menu & QR → Translations.
  2. Add a language (for example Hindi, Tamil or Arabic). AI can translate the whole menu for you to review.
  3. Guests then see a language picker on your menu.

When Hindi is one of your menu languages, guests who pick it also get the menu buttons and messages in Hindi. Each plan includes a number of extra menu languages: Starter 1, Growth 3, Pro 5, Custom 10 (3 in the free trial); more with the Extra menu language add-on (₹299 a month each). See Menu translations.

Troubleshooting languages

  • I switched to Hindi but the kitchen tablet is still in English. The tablet has its own device language. Open the avatar menu on that tablet and choose हिन्दी under Device language.
  • The screen changed language when someone else signed in. Each person's own choice applies unless the device has a language set under Device language.
  • "Couldn't change the language. Please try again." Check the internet connection and try again.
  • Dish names are still in English. Dish names are your data. To show them in Hindi to guests, add Hindi in Menu & QR → Translations.
  • The KOT printed in English. That's expected; printed tickets and bills always stay in English.
