Payment center: verify guests' UPI and bank payments
See every "I've paid · Verify payment" from guests in one place — table QR, takeaway, online and kiosk — and verify or mark each one not received.
The Payment center collects every direct payment a guest tells you about: they paid your UPI ID or bank account from their order page or the kiosk and tapped I've paid · Verify payment. Open it from Service → Payments. The badge on the menu item and the bell in the top bar show how many are waiting.
AirQR never receives the money itself, so a claim is only a note until someone checks your UPI or bank app and verifies it.
Who can use it
- Owners, managers and cashiers can verify payments and mark them not received.
- Waiters can open the page and see claims, but not verify them. Kitchen and host accounts, and the shared kitchen, print-station and time-clock screens, get no payment alerts.
The tabs
- Needs verification (the default): claims still waiting, newest first. Each card shows how long ago the guest tapped the button: blue at first, amber after 3 minutes, red after 8.
- Verified: payments staff confirmed, with who verified them, when, and whether it was UPI or a bank transfer.
- Not received: claims marked not received, with the note the guest saw.
- All: everything.
Use the search box for an order number, token, UTR, amount or guest name. The channel chips filter by Dine-in, Takeaway, Online pickup, Delivery and Kiosk. With more than one outlet you can pick an outlet or All outlets. Verified, Not received and All can be limited to the last 24 hours, 7, 30 or 90 days.
Reading a claim card
- Token 12, Table 5 or #1043, with the channel, the guest's name and phone.
- Guest was asked for: the exact amount on the QR they paid with. "Matches the amount due" means nothing changed since. If the table ordered more after paying, the card says how much was added; that part stays due.
- Guest's UTR: the 12-digit UPI reference, if they gave one, with a copy button.
- Look for in your UPI app: the order's reference (for example AQ1043), which is in the payment note of amount-filled QR payments.
- A screenshot thumbnail, if the guest added one. Tap it to see it large. Screenshots can be edited, so they are never proof on their own.
Verify a payment
- Find the payment in your UPI or bank app: match the amount, the time, and the UTR or reference.
- Press Verify & mark paid.
- Choose UPI or Bank transfer. The reference is filled in from the guest's UTR; change it if your app shows another one.
- Press Verify & mark paid again to confirm.
AirQR records a payment for the amount the guest was asked for (never more than is due), with the reference. The guest's page, online order tracker or kiosk token screen changes to "Payment received ✓" with what happens next, and plays a short sound. A pay-first takeaway goes to the kitchen and a must-pay-first online order is accepted. A table that ordered more after paying keeps the rest due, and the guest can pay it the same way.
Mark a payment not received
If the money isn't there, press Not received, optionally pick or type a note for the guest ("Not in our UPI app yet", "Amount doesn't match", "UTR not found"), and confirm. The order stays on hold. The guest sees "Payment not received — please check" with your note and can tap I've paid · Verify payment again. If you find the money later, you can still verify it from the Not received tab.
Alerts: sound, bell and browser notifications
- A new claim plays a two-note chime and shows a message such as "₹1,217 payment claimed · Token 12" with a Verify button. The Takeaway & delivery board has its own sounds, so the bell stays quiet while it's open.
- Sound on / Sound off on the page (or the speaker button in the bell) mutes the chime on this device.
- Alert me when this tab is hidden asks the browser for permission to show a notification when a claim arrives while you're in another tab.
What guests see
Guests on a table QR, takeaway, online pickup or delivery order, or the kiosk see a UPI QR for the exact amount due with the AirQR mark in the middle and "Powered by AirQR" under it, a Pay with UPI app button, your shop's own UPI QR ("Enter exactly (amount)") and your bank details. After tapping I've paid · Verify payment they see "Waiting for (restaurant) to confirm your payment" and can tap Notify me to get a browser notification when you confirm it.
Every verify and not-received is saved in the audit log with who did it.
Troubleshooting
| Symptom | Fix |
|---|---|
| No Verify & mark paid button | Only owners, managers and cashiers can verify payments. |
| A card says "The order was settled or closed another way." | The bill was paid at the counter or closed before anyone verified the claim. Nothing to do. |
| No chime | Check Sound on, and click anywhere on the page once — browsers block sound until you interact with the page. |
| "Showing each order's latest claim only…" | The latest database update hasn't been applied yet; history appears once it is. |
| Guest paid the shop QR with the wrong amount | Verify only what arrived: record the payment at the counter for the real amount instead, and mark the claim not received with a note. |
