Design and branding for your QR menu

Choose a theme, fonts, colours, shape, logo, app icon and cover photo for your guest QR menu, crop your pictures in the built-in editor, create logos with AI, and preview it on a phone, tablet, desktop, home screen and chat link.

Design & brand (Menu & QR → Design & brand) controls how your guest QR menu looks: theme, layout, colours, logo, cover photo and footer details. Guests see your name, logo and colours. A live preview on the right shows your changes before you publish them. Only owners and managers can change the design.

How do I choose a theme and layout for my QR menu?

Open the Theme tab. There are eight professionally designed themes. Each theme comes with its own fonts, colours and spacing:

ThemeStyle
MinimalClean, airy and modern
NoirMoody, premium, after-dark
BistroWarm, classic, candle-lit
CaféFriendly, soft and rounded
StreetLoud, bold, punchy
Fine DiningElegant, restrained, timeless
GardenFresh, green, wholesome
CoastalBreezy, bright, seaside

Click a theme to try it in the preview. A theme sets the starting fonts, colours, corners and card style. To change them, use the Style tab (see below).

If you already changed fonts, colours, shape or cover settings, picking another theme asks first: "This resets your fonts, colours, shape and cover settings to the theme's defaults." Choose Switch theme to continue.

Under Layout, choose how dishes are arranged:

  • List
  • Grid
  • Magazine

Try each one and check the preview; photo-heavy menus usually look best in Grid or Magazine, and long text menus in List.

Picking a theme also switches to that theme's recommended layout, so choose the layout after the theme.

Also on this tab:

  • Show dish photos: turn off for a text-only menu.
  • Show calories: shows each dish's kcal if you entered it.
  • Announcement bar: a short line at the top of the menu (up to 140 characters), for example "Happy hour 5–7 pm · 1+1 on cocktails". Leave it empty to hide it.

How do I set my logo, app icon and cover photo?

Open the Brand tab.

  • Business name (shown to guests): required. This can differ from your account name.
  • Tagline: for example "Modern Indian grill & bar".
  • Logo: upload a PNG, JPG or WebP. Square works best. AirQR saves your logo and cover photo in a few sizes automatically, so the menu opens quickly on a slow phone connection. Nothing to set up.
  • App icon: a square image. It's used for the browser tab and when a guest adds your menu to their home screen. It is also the logo placed in the centre of your QR codes.
  • Cover photo: the big image at the top of the menu. Use your space, a hero dish or the chef.

The picture editor

When you choose a picture, an editor opens before it is saved. Drag to move, use the slider to zoom, and click Turn 90° to rotate. Brightness, Contrast and Colour sliders tidy up a dull photo. Click Use this picture when you're happy.

  • Logo: the picture sits in a square. Click Fit whole picture to show all of it, and choose a background (Clear, White, Black, your Brand colour, or Other) for the empty space.
  • App icon: the preview shows your picture, how an iPhone rounds it, and how Android makes it a circle. Keep the important part inside the dashed circle so it isn't cut off. AirQR saves a 512 px and a 192 px copy for the home screen.
  • Cover photo: crop to 16:9, then click the preview (or use the two Focus sliders) to set the focal point, the part that must always stay visible. The dashed boxes show how the cover is cut on a phone (4:3) and on a wide screen (3:1), so one picture works everywhere.

To change a picture you already saved, hover over it and click Edit. The new version is saved as a new upload when you publish. SVG and GIF files can't be edited; upload them again if you want to crop them. The same editor is used for dish photos and category photos.

Create a logo, icon or cover with AI

Under the logo, icon or cover, click Generate with AI. Enter your business name, a short description and a style (for example "modern Indian, warm, minimal"), choose Fast, Standard or Premium, then click Create 3 options. The window shows what each option costs in credits before you start; nothing is charged if you cancel or it fails. Click Cancel to stop at any time. Click Use this one to open the picture in the editor, then publish as usual. If the message says "AI images are coming soon", the feature isn't switched on for your account yet.

How do I change fonts, colours, shape and the cover?

Open the Style tab.

  • Fonts: choose one of twelve heading and body pairs, or Theme default.
  • Colours: Brand colour (click a dot or the colour code) and Use brand colour for buttons & highlights (off = the theme's own accent colour). Optionally add an Accent colour for prices and a Page tint that replaces the page background. If a colour makes something hard to read, a yellow warning says which one and by how much.
  • Shape: Corners (Sharp, Soft, Round), Buttons (Pill, Rounded, Outline) and Dish cards (Plain, Divided, Bordered, Raised).
  • Cover: Height (Compact, Standard, Tall), Darkness over the photo, and whether the business name sits Below the cover or On the cover.
  • Category photos: show them as a Banner, a Small tile, or Hidden. Add the photos in the menu builder; see Menu builder basics.

Can guests add my menu to their home screen?

Yes. Your menu has its own web app details: your business name, your colours and your app icon. When a guest chooses "Add to Home Screen" in their phone's browser, your icon and name appear on their home screen. Upload an app icon on the Brand tab to make it look right.

Footer details: open the Details tab. These are "Shown in your menu's footer":

  • Phone
  • Instagram: just your handle, for example yourhandle.
  • Website: must be a full address starting with https://.

The outlet address and opening hours come from Settings → Outlets, not from this page. See Outlet settings.

How do I preview and publish design changes?

The preview on the right is your menu at the current outlet. It updates as you change anything, but guests don't see the changes yet. Use the buttons above it to switch the view:

  • Phone, Tablet and Desktop: your real menu at each screen size. Click the enlarge button to see tablet and desktop bigger.
  • App icon: your icon on iPhone and Android home screens, in light and dark.
  • Link preview: the card people see when your menu link is shared in WhatsApp or on social media, with your cover and name. Chat apps show a 1200×630 cut of your cover, made around your focal point.
  • Make your changes on any tab.
  • Check the preview. Scroll inside the device to see the whole menu.
  • Click Publish changes at the top right. You see "Published — your QR menus are updated", and the button now reads Published.

To see the real guest menu, click Live menu; it opens in a new tab.

You don't need to reprint QR codes after a design change; the same codes open the new design.

Can I remove the "Powered by AirQR" line?

No. A small "Powered by AirQR" line shows on every plan: at the foot of guest menus, booking pages, receipts and order screens, and as a small mark on QR codes and UPI payment QRs. Everything else guests see is your brand: your name, logo, app icon, colours and cover photo.
