QR codes and printing table cards

Create table, takeaway, online-ordering and campaign QR codes, style them with your brand, pause them, track scans and print table cards.

The QR codes page (Menu & QR → QR codes) holds every QR code for the outlet you are working in: one for each table, plus codes for the takeaway counter, online ordering and marketing. Every code is dynamic: you can change your menu, prices or design any time without reprinting. Only owners and managers can manage QR codes.

What kinds of QR codes does AirQR have, and how are scans counted?

The page has two sections: Outlet & campaigns and Tables. Each tile says what the code does:

KindTile saysWhat happens when scanned
Table"Dine-in · orders go to this table"Opens the menu for that table. Orders go to that table's check.
Takeaway counter"Takeaway counter · orders get a token"Opens the menu for takeaway. Guests order with their name and phone, get a daily token and track it on their phone.
Online ordering"Online ordering · pickup & delivery"Opens your online ordering page.
Campaign"Campaign · tracks scans"Opens the menu. Use it on flyers, posters or Instagram to count scans.

Table QR codes are created automatically when you add a table in Tables → Edit floor plan, and removed with their table. Click Add or edit tables → above the Tables section. See Floor plan editor.

Guests can only order at a table by scanning that table's own code.

Scan counts: the three boxes at the top show Scans, all time, Scans, last 7 days and your Busiest table. Each tile shows its own scan count and when it was last scanned, for example "248 scans · 2 hours ago". Use campaign codes to compare flyers and posters.

How do I create a takeaway, online-ordering or campaign QR code?

  1. Click New QR at the top of the page.
  2. Choose the kind:
    • Takeaway counter ("Scan to order takeaway · token")
    • Opens the menu ("Flyers & posters · tracks scans"), which is a campaign code
    • Opens online ordering ("Pickup & delivery")
  3. Type a name you'll recognise, for example "Diwali flyer", "Delivery bag sticker" or "Takeaway counter".
  4. Click Create. You see "QR code created".

Make a separate campaign code for each flyer, poster or channel. Each one counts its own scans, so you can see which works best.

A takeaway counter code is pre-styled as a "Scan to order takeaway" standee. See Takeaway tokens and Online ordering setup.

Click a QR image, or … → Customise design. To style every code at once, click Style all at the top. The Design your QR window opens with a preview on the right:

  • Presets: Classic, Midnight, Cream, Forest, Ocean.
  • Dots, Background and Accent colours. Keep the dots dark on a light background so every phone can scan it.
  • Dot shape: Rounded, Dots, Classy, Soft, Square.
  • Corner eyes: Rounded, Circle, Square.
  • Frame: Table card, Call to action (a label) or QR only.
  • Call to action: up to 28 characters, for example "Scan for menu", "Scan to order", "Scan & pay" or "Menu · मेन्यू".
  • Show logo in the centre: uses your App icon or logo from Design & brand, or your initials if you have none.

Click Save style (or Apply to X codes when styling all). Styling never changes where a code points, so printed codes keep working.

How do I download, print and copy QR codes?

Each tile has:

  • PNG button: downloads a ready-to-print image of the card.
  • … → Download SVG (print shops): a sharp vector file for professional printing.
  • … → Print standee (takeaway, online and campaign codes): opens the print page with that code.
  • … → Copy link: copies the code's web link, for example to share on WhatsApp.

To print table cards for all tables:

  1. Click Print table cards at the top of the QR codes page.
  2. Pick what to print: Select all, Tables only, Clear, or tick codes one by one. By default all active codes are selected.
  3. Under Cards per page, choose 4, 6 (the default) or 8. Fewer cards means bigger QR codes; with 8 per page each QR code is still about 31 mm wide, enough for any phone to scan.
  4. Check the preview. It shows the real A4 page (shrunk to fit a phone screen): each card has its own space, with a gap between cards and one dashed cut line down the middle of each gap.
  5. Click Print and print on A4, at 100% scale (no "fit to page" shrinking). The page has a 10 mm margin so nothing is cut off by the printer. To save a PDF, choose Save as PDF as the printer, paper size A4, margins Default.
  6. Cut along the dashed lines, then fold or slide the cards into table stands. A card is never split across two pages.

Do printed QR codes ever change?

No. Each printed code has a fixed link that never changes. You can edit the menu, change prices, switch themes, rename a table or restyle the code, and the printed card keeps working. You only need to print again if you want a new look on paper, or if you delete a code or a table.

Turning on Private links in settings does not affect printed QR codes. See Private links and security.

How do I pause or delete a QR code?

  • Pause: … → Pause. The tile fades and shows Paused. Anyone who scans it lands on the AirQR home page instead of your menu. Click … → Activate to turn it back on; printed copies work again.
  • Delete (takeaway, online and campaign codes only): … → Delete and confirm "Delete this QR code? Printed copies will stop working." This can't be undone.

Table codes can't be deleted here; they're removed with their table in the floor plan editor ("Table QR codes are removed with their table.").
