Floor plan editor (add and arrange tables)
Add, name and arrange tables in areas like Terrace or Rooftop, set seats and shapes, and understand table limits per plan.
The Floor plan editor is where you lay out your dining room once: every table you add gets its own QR code automatically. Open it from Service → Tables → Edit floor plan, or from Add or edit tables → on the QR codes page. Only owners and managers can edit the floor plan. Changes save automatically.
Which plan do I need for tables and the floor plan editor?
Every plan can add tables and use the floor plan editor, because tables are how table QR codes are made. The limits are:
| Plan | Tables per outlet |
|---|---|
| Starter | 15 |
| Growth | Unlimited |
| Pro | Unlimited |
| Free trial | Unlimited |
The Live floor view (the Tables page showing who's seated, open bills and requests) is included in the Growth plan and above, and in the free trial. On Starter, the Tables page shows an upgrade message with a Set up tables & QR codes button that opens the editor. See Live floor.
When you reach your limit, adding a table shows "Your [plan] plan includes 15 tables per outlet. Upgrade in Settings → Billing to add more."
How do I add tables to the floor plan?
- Open Tables → Edit floor plan (page title Floor plan).
- If you use areas, pick the area first (see below).
- Click a shape at the top right:
- Round: starts with 2 seats.
- Square: starts with 4 seats.
- Long: a long rectangular table with 6 seats.
- The table appears on the grid with the next free name (T1, T2, T3…). You see "Table added — its QR code is ready".
- Drag the table to where it sits in your room. It snaps to the grid and the position saves automatically.
Add all your tables this way, then print their QR cards from QR codes → Print table cards. See QR codes.
How do I rename a table and change its seats or shape?
Name tables the way your staff call them, so orders and kitchen tickets are clear.
- Click the table on the grid. The panel on the right shows Table [name].
- Change any of:
- Name: up to 12 characters, for example 12, T5, B2 or Patio 1. Two active tables can't have the same name.
- Seats: 1 to 40.
- Shape: Round, Square or Long.
- Width and Height: the table's size on the plan.
- Area: move the table to another area (shown when you have two or more areas).
- Click Save. You see "Table updated".
Renaming a table keeps its QR code. The printed card still works; it just shows the old name until you print a new card.
Click an empty spot on the grid to deselect.
How do I use areas like Terrace, Rooftop or Private dining?
Areas split a big floor into separate tabs.
- Add an area: click + Area, type a name (for example Terrace, Rooftop, Private dining) and confirm.
- Switch area: click its name above the grid. New tables go into the area you're viewing.
- Rename: select the area and click Rename.
- Delete area: select it and click Delete area. An area with tables in it can't be deleted ("Move or delete the tables in this area first.").
The same areas appear as tabs on the Live floor.
How do I delete a table?
- Click the table and click the bin button (Delete table).
- Confirm "Delete table [name]? Its QR code will stop working."
You see "Table removed". Things to know:
- A table with an open check can't be deleted: "This table has an open check. Settle or move it first."
- If the table has past orders, AirQR retires it instead of erasing it, so your sales history stays complete. Its QR code is switched off.
- Deleting a table frees up a place under your plan's table limit.
Troubleshooting the floor plan editor
