Live floor (Tables view)

See every table's status, seated time, open bill and guest requests live, seat or hold tables, move checks and mark tables clean.

The Tables page (Service → Tables) is a live map of your dining room. Each table shows whether it's free, seated, waiting for food or the bill, or needs attention, together with the running bill and how long guests have been there. It updates on its own every few seconds. Hosts, waiters, cashiers, managers and owners use it during service.

The live floor is the Live floor plan module: in the Growth plan and above, and in the free trial. When it's off, or not in your plan (Starter), the sidebar shows Table setup instead of Tables: you can still set up tables and QR codes and answer waiter calls there. Turn the module on in Settings → Modules.

What do the table colours and statuses mean on the live floor?

The legend above the floor lists each status. If more than one applies, the table shows the most urgent one (top of this list first):

StatusWhat it means
Needs attention (red, pulsing dot)Guests at this table have an open request: calling a waiter, want the bill, asked for water, or need help.
Bill requestedThe guests asked for the bill.
Food readyA kitchen ticket for this table is ready to serve (a chef hat shows on the tile).
SeatedGuests are seated or the table has an open check.
ReservedThe table is held, or a reservation is due within the next few hours.
Needs cleaning (dashed)The check was just settled or moved; the table needs clearing.
FreeReady for new guests.

The header sums it up, for example "4 seated · 9 free · 14 guests dining now". With more than one area, switch areas with the tabs above the floor.

What does each table tile on the live floor show?

  • A free table shows its name and number of seats.
  • A table with an open check shows the amount still due, and minutes since the check was opened, for example "₹1,240 · 35m".

Tap to order, hold for options

  • Tap (or click) a table to go straight to the point of sale. A free table starts a new order; a table with a check opens that check. At an outlet with shared tables, a table with several checks asks which one.
  • Hold the table (on a touch screen), double-click it or right-click it to open the table's panel with the options below: seat without an order, hold, mark clean, guests, move and merge. The first time you open the floor, a short hint says so, and every table's tooltip reads "Tap to order · hold for options".
  • A table that needs a decision first (it is being cleaned, held, has a booking soon, or a guest is waiting for it to be confirmed) opens its panel when tapped. People without POS access always get the panel.
  • Press T and type a table name or number (4, T4, B2), then Enter, to jump to a table from the keyboard. See Keyboard shortcuts.

What the table panel shows

Open any table's panel (hold, double-click or right-click):

  • Check #[number] with how long it's been open, the Total and the amount Due.
  • Badges: number of guests, In the kitchen, Ready to serve, Bill requested. Without a kitchen display, "In the kitchen" and "Ready to serve" are not shown: the POS runs the whole check.
  • Any open requests, each with a Done button.
  • The next reservation for the table (guest name, party size and time), if one is due soon.

How do I seat, hold or free a table from the live floor?

Open the panel of a table without a check (hold or double-click it). You can:

  • Start an order: opens the Point of sale for this table (for staff with POS access). If your outlet asks for guests, pick how many first: the buttons go from 1 up to the table's seats, and More opens a stepper for bigger parties (up to 60). If your POS profile doesn't ask for guests, there are no buttons at all. See POS basics.
  • Seat: marks the table as Seated ("Guests seated") so staff know it's taken, even before the first order.
  • Hold: keeps the table for someone ("Table held"). It shows as Reserved.
  • Free: makes it available again ("Table is free").

A table can't be set to Free while it has an open check: "Settle or move the open check first."

When a check is settled, or moved to another table, the old table turns to Needs cleaning automatically. After clearing it, click the table and choose Mark as clean ("Table cleaned & ready"). It becomes Free.

Shared tables: several checks at one table

When Settings → POS settings → Tables is Several checks per table, a table can hold more than one party. The table shows "2 checks" and the combined amount due, and its panel lists every check by party (T4·A, T4·B), each with its own Add items, Print bill, Settle, Move and Merge. New check at (table) starts another party. A guest ordering by QR from their own phone gets their own check; staff see an "Ordered by QR" badge.

How do I add items, settle or move a check from the live floor?

Open the panel of a table with an open check:

  • Add items: opens the check on the Point of sale to add a new round.
  • Settle: opens the POS payment screen for the check.
  • Move this check to another table: open Choose a free table and pick where the party moved. You see "Check moved". Use this instead of opening a second check.

Add items and Settle only show for staff with POS access (waiters, cashiers, managers, owners). The point of sale is in every plan.

How do I handle guest requests on the live floor?

When guests tap a request button on the QR menu, it appears in red at the top of the Tables page, for example "Table 7 · Wants the bill", with how long ago it came in. Request types: Calling a waiter, Wants the bill, Asked for water, Needs help.

  1. Go to the table and help the guests.
  2. Click Done on the request ("Marked as done").

The table stays Needs attention until every request is marked done. Requests also show on the Overview page. See Service requests.
