Plans, trial and billing
What each plan includes, how the 28-day trial and 7-day grace period work, what the usage limits and AI credits mean, and how to upgrade, renew or cancel.
AirQR has three monthly plans (Starter, Growth and Pro), a Custom plan for larger groups, and a licence (managed or self-hosted). Every account starts with a 28-day free trial of everything. Only the owner can open Avatar menu → Plan & billing; managers see the trial and plan banners but can't change the plan.
What does each plan include?
Prices are per month. Yearly billing charges 10 months for 12 (2 months free). Businesses in India pay in rupees plus 18% GST; businesses in the Gulf pay in UAE dirhams and everyone else in US dollars, with no Indian GST (see Which currency do I pay in?).
| Plan | India (+ GST) | Gulf | Rest of the world | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | ₹799 per outlet | AED 45 per outlet | $12 per outlet | Cafés, kiosks and quick-service places going digital |
| Growth | ₹1,499 per outlet | AED 109 per outlet | $29 per outlet | Full-service restaurants and bars |
| Pro | ₹3,199 for 3 outlets, + ₹999 per extra outlet | AED 219, + AED 55 per extra outlet | $59, + $15 per extra outlet | Brands with several outlets |
| Custom | Quote | Quote | Quote | Chains, franchises, hotels and cloud-kitchen groups (10+ outlets) |
- Starter: the essentials (QR menu, orders and bills, payments, tables, staff, GST exports, feedback, daily sales) plus the point of sale (billing, split bills and bar tabs, which never use up a pick) and 4 modules of your choice from: QR ordering, takeaway, online ordering for pickup, order-ready screen, thermal printing, cash drawer and day-end report, offers and coupons (3 active), smart upsell, Google review booster and menu translations (1 extra language). 1 outlet, up to 15 tables, 3 staff logins, 100 AI credits a month.
- Growth: every Starter module with no limit, plus delivery orders, the self-order kiosk, kitchen display, live floor plan, reservations and waitlist, guest CRM, advanced analytics and menu engineering, loyalty, campaigns, inventory and recipe costing, and staff roster and attendance. 1 outlet, unlimited tables, 15 staff logins, 3 extra menu languages, unlimited offers, 1,000 AI credits.
- The AI waiter is a Pro module; on Growth it's an add-on.
- Pro: everything in Growth plus multiple outlets (3 included), outlet-level staff access, consolidated reports, unlimited staff, 5 extra menu languages, 3,000 AI credits, and priority WhatsApp support.
- Licence: a managed licence is set up, hosted and looked after by AirQR under your brand; a self-hosted licence is installed on your own servers or cloud, with updates and support for the licence period. Both are for your own brands and outlets only. Pricing and terms are agreed with you on request.
Each plan card under Plans lists its modules (press Modules) and the monthly price of the ones you can add on top. On Starter and Growth you can add a single module for a monthly fee instead of upgrading: see Modules.
How do the free trial and grace period work?
- Free trial: 28 days of every feature, no card needed. During the trial you can have up to 3 outlets, unlimited tables, staff and offers, 3 extra menu languages, and 300 AI credits.
- Trial banner: owners and managers see "Your free trial ends in N days" when 7 or fewer days are left.
- Grace period: when a trial or a paid period ends, everything keeps working for 7 more days (14 days for a licence, unless your order form says otherwise). The banner says your plan has ended and how many days are left.
- Plan ended: after the grace period your QR menu stays live as a view-only digital menu, but ordering and the other features pause until you choose a plan. Pages show Your plan has ended. Your data is kept and nothing is deleted; you can still download it (see Exporting your data).
How do I upgrade, renew or change my plan?
AirQR doesn't take card payments inside the app yet. Choosing a plan sends a request to the AirQR team, who share the payment details with an invoice (bank transfer or UPI in India, international bank transfer elsewhere) and switch the plan on once the payment arrives. See Paying for AirQR, renewals and invoices for the full flow, invoices, and paused or cancelled subscriptions.
- The owner opens Avatar menu → Plan & billing.
- Under Plans, press Choose Starter, Choose Growth or Choose Pro (on your current plan the button says Renew / change billing).
- Pick monthly or yearly.
- Under Anything we should know? add your GSTIN for the invoice (India) or your billing address, or your preferred payment method.
- Press Send request.
You'll see "Request sent. We'll contact you with payment details within one working day." The plan card shows Requested — we'll be in touch, and the page shows Request in progress. Once the payment reaches AirQR, the team activates your plan, the page shows Active with the days left and the end date, and the invoice appears under Payments & invoices.
For 10+ outlets, franchises or a managed or self-hosted licence, press Request a quote under Custom plan or licence, or email support@airqr.in.
How activation works
After the team confirms your plan, an order card at the top of Plan & billing shows the amount, the period and how to pay (awaiting payment). Once your payment is recorded it says payment received, being verified. When the team has verified it, the plan switches on and owners get an email with the dates it is active from and to. See Paying for AirQR, renewals and invoices.
How does my licence renew?
A licence runs for a period agreed with you (usually a year) and is then renewed. Avatar menu → Plan & billing shows a licence card with the type (managed or self-hosted), the current period, the end date, how often it renews and its invoices.
- Before the end: about 30 days before the end date, AirQR prepares your renewal invoice for the next period. It appears at the top of Plan & billing with the amount due and how to pay, and the licence card says Renewal due soon. Owners also get an email 30, 14, 7 and 1 days before the end and on the end date, and a notice on Overview.
- Renewing early never loses days: the new period starts the day after the current one ends, whenever you pay.
- After the end date: a managed licence keeps working for the grace period (14 days unless agreed otherwise), with a warning on every page. After that, your QR menu stays live as a view-only digital menu, but ordering and the other features pause until you renew, the same as an ended plan. Nothing is deleted, and everything comes back as soon as the renewal is confirmed.
- Self-hosted licence: it runs on your own servers, so nothing is switched off by AirQR. The card and the reminders show when updates and support need renewing.
- Paying: by bank transfer or UPI in India with a GST invoice, or by international bank transfer with an export invoice elsewhere. Quote the reference shown with the payment. Your invoice appears under Licence invoices once the payment reaches AirQR.
Which currency do I pay in?
Your business is billed in one currency, set from its country when the account is created: rupees (INR) in India, UAE dirhams (AED) in the Gulf (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain and Oman) and US dollars (USD) everywhere else. Plan & billing, module add-ons, AI credit packs and pay as you go all show prices in that currency.
- India: prices exclude 18% GST, which is added to the bill. You get a GST invoice; add your GSTIN to claim input tax credit.
- Outside India: no Indian GST is added. You get an export invoice that shows your country and a note that the supply is an export of services. You pay by international bank transfer (or the payment link, when AirQR has shared one).
- Need a different currency? Ask the AirQR team. A change applies from your next bill (at the list price in the new currency until a new price is agreed); earlier invoices stay as they were.
What do the usage meters mean?
The Usage box on Plan & billing shows what you're using against your plan's limits:
- Outlets: active outlets in your brand.
- Tables: tables at the outlet you're currently in.
- Staff logins: people with access to your business.
- AI credits this month: see below.
- Active offers: offers and coupons switched on.
- Kiosk tablets: self-order kiosks per outlet (Free trial 2, Starter 1 with the kiosk add-on, Growth 2, Pro 5, Custom and Licence unlimited), shared across your active outlets. Each Extra kiosk add-on adds one for ₹99 (AED 8, $2) a month; ask us from Settings → Billing.
- Menu languages: guest-menu languages besides English. No plan is unlimited (Starter 1, Growth 3, Pro 5, Custom 10); each Extra menu language add-on adds one for ₹299 ($5, AED 19) a month.
- Modules: optional modules switched on, against your plan's allowance (Starter 4; the other plans have no count limit). Add-ons don't count.
A meter turns red when you reach the limit. Reaching a limit only stops you adding more (tables, staff, outlets, offers…); nothing you already have is switched off. Messages like "Your Starter plan includes up to 15 tables" or "… Upgrade in Settings → Billing" mean the Plan & billing page.
What are AI credits?
AI credits pay for AI actions: importing a menu from photos (10 per photo page), writing a dish description (1), translating the menu (5 per 40 entries) and AI waiter replies to guests (1 per message). Each plan includes a number per calendar month: Free trial 300, Starter 100, Growth 1,000, Pro 3,000, Custom 10,000. Need more? Buy a credit pack (from ₹499, $8 or AED 29 for 1,000 credits, valid 12 months) or turn on pay as you go (₹0.60, $0.01 or AED 0.04 a credit, with a monthly limit). See AI credits, packs and pay as you go.
- Plan credits reset on the 1st of every month. Unused plan credits don't carry over (pack credits do, for 12 months).
- If an AI action fails, its credits are given back.
- When you run out you'll see "You've used 100 of 100 AI credits this month. They reset on the 1st — or add credits in Settings → Billing."
- Questions to the Ask AirQR help assistant use 1 AI credit each, from the same AI credits as menu import and translations. See Ask AirQR help assistant.
Why is a page missing, or showing a lock?
Pages your plan doesn't include aren't in the sidebar; the search (Ctrl K / ⌘ K) shows them with a lock, and Settings → Modules lists them as Not in plan with Add for …/month (in your billing currency) where an add-on is possible. Opening one shows what it does, Included in the cheapest plan that has it with its price, and See plans (owner) or Talk to us. For example the kitchen display, POS, reservations, inventory and staff roster need Growth; multiple outlets need Pro.
A page can also be missing because its module is turned off, or because your role doesn't include it. See I can't see a page or a menu item.
What happens when I move to a smaller plan?
If more modules are on than the new plan includes (for example moving to Starter, which has 4), nothing switches off straight away. The owner gets an email and picks the modules to keep within 7 days; otherwise AirQR keeps the ones you use most. Module add-ons that a bigger plan includes are removed when you upgrade, so you never pay twice. See Modules.
How do I cancel?
- The owner opens Avatar menu → Plan & billing.
- Under the plans, press Cancel your subscription.
- Add a Reason if you like, and press Request cancellation.
The AirQR team confirms by email, and nothing changes until your paid period ends. You keep full access until then. After that your QR menu stays live as view-only, and your data stays downloadable for 30 days from Your data on the same page. Download a full backup before you go. See Exporting your data.
Common billing questions
- Can a manager change the plan? No, only the owner. Managers can do everything else.
- Do I need a card for the trial? No.
- Will my data be deleted if I don't pay? No. After the grace period the menu stays live as view-only and your data is kept.
- I paid but my plan hasn't changed. Activation is done by the AirQR team after the payment arrives, usually within a few hours on a working day. If it's taking longer, WhatsApp +91 96573 22724 or email support@airqr.in with your business name and the payment reference (UTR).
- "We already have this request". A request for that plan is already open; the team will be in touch.
- Will I get an email before my trial or plan ends? Yes. Owners get an email 3 days before the trial ends, and 7 days and 1 day before a paid period ends, plus receipts for each payment. Add a Billing email on Plan & billing to send these to your accounts team too. See Emails from AirQR.
