AI for restaurants that does the slow work and leaves you in charge

AirQR uses AI for the jobs that eat an owner's time. It reads a photo of your printed menu and builds a digital one, draws dish photos, translates the menu into Hindi and 22 other languages, suggests a logo and cover, and answers guests as an AI waiter. You check every result before it goes live, and AI credits are charged only for work that finishes.

  • Dish photos and translations
  • Cancel any time, pay for finished work

What AI for restaurants really means in AirQR

In AirQR, AI does the slow, repetitive jobs of setting up and running a restaurant, and a person approves the result. Nothing it makes is published until you say so, and nothing it suggests to a guest is ordered or paid without the guest tapping a button.

The jobs are typing a menu in from scratch, finding photos for two hundred dishes, translating every dish name and description, designing a logo and answering the same guest questions about parking, Jain food and spice every evening. Each one has its own tool, and all of them work inside the AirQR dashboard you already use for your QR code menu.

AI can get details wrong. A dish photo may show the wrong garnish and a translation may use a stiff word for a dish everyone knows by its Hindi name. That is why every tool has a review step, and why you can always replace what AI made with your own photo or words.

The AI tools, one by one

Each tool is separate, so you can use only the ones you want.

  • AI menu import

Photograph your printed menu, or upload a PDF, Word or text file. AI reads the sections, dishes, prices, sizes and veg or non-veg marks into a draft for you to check.

  • AI dish photos

Draw a photo for one dish, a whole section or every dish that has no photo. Choose Fast, Standard or Premium quality and see the credits first.

  • AI menu translation

Add Hindi, Tamil, Bengali or any of 20 more languages. AI translates the whole menu and you edit it before saving.

  • Write with AI

Get a draft description for a dish in one click, then fix it in your own words.

  • AI brand assets

Get three logo, app icon or cover options from your business name, a short description and a style you describe.

  • AI waiter

A chat assistant on your guest menu that recommends dishes, answers questions, builds an order and books tables, in English, Hindi or Hinglish.

AI menu import, from a photo to a live menu

This is the tool most owners try first. It turns a printed menu into a draft you can check in a few minutes, instead of typing every dish in.

  1. 01

Take photos or upload a file

One photo per printed page, up to 6 pages at a time, or a PDF, Word, text or spreadsheet file. English, Hindi and regional scripts all work.

  2. 02

    Let AI read it

Photo pages are read one by one. You see the progress and the credits used so far, and can cancel at any time.

  3. 03

    Review the draft

Sections, dishes, prices, sizes and veg or non-veg marks are laid out to edit. A red mark shows a price AI could not find. AirQR can also split a mixed file into a Bar menu and a Food menu, and suggests the station for each section.

  4. 04

    Import

Nothing goes live until you press Import. Importing only adds to your menu and never removes dishes you already have.

Spreadsheets and re-imports

If your menu is already in Excel or CSV, you match the columns yourself and no AI credits are used. AI only joins in if you ask it to read a hard file. When you import a newer version of the same file, AirQR can update the dishes you already have instead of adding them twice. Photos, recipes and availability stay as they were. The full steps are in AI menu import help.

AI food photos for every dish

Few owners have a good photo of every dish and drink. AI food photos draw one for you. For a named drink such as a bottle of rum, AI looks up the real product so the bottle shape and label colours stay right. A dish gets plating and ingredients that suit its cuisine and your description.

Pick a quality for each job. Fast is a quick first pass over a whole menu. Standard is the default for most dishes and drinks. Premium is for hero dishes and covers. Optionally add a style, such as dark and moody, shot from above. You check each photo and choose Use this photo, Try again or Cancel. If a dish already has your own photo, AirQR asks before replacing it.

To fill a whole menu, tick dishes, pick a section, or choose every dish without a photo. Photos arrive one after another and each is saved to its dish as it finishes, so you can stop at any point. Read how in the AI dish photos guide.

AI logo, app icon and cover options

A new café often opens with no logo file at all, or only a blurry photo of the signboard. Under the logo, app icon or cover in Design and brand, press Generate with AI, type your business name, a line about the place and a style such as modern Indian, warm and minimal. AirQR makes three options to choose from. You see the cost in credits before you start, and nothing is charged if you cancel or it fails.

Pick one and it opens in the built-in picture editor, where you crop, zoom, rotate and set the focal point before you publish. The app icon is also what guests see when they add your menu to their home screen, and it sits in the centre of your QR codes. Your printed codes keep working, so a new logo needs no reprint. See design and branding.

AI menu translation into Hindi and 22 other languages

Guests who read Hindi, Tamil or Gujarati order more comfortably in their own language. In Translations you add a language and press Translate missing with AI. A progress bar shows AI working through the menu and filling the boxes. Then you read it, fix any dish name a guest would say differently and press Save.

AI translations are only suggestions until you save, so leave the page and they are lost. Anything left empty shows in English. When you add new dishes later, filter for the missing ones and translate just those. The number of menu languages you can add is on the pricing page. The details are in menu translations help.

An AI waiter for your guests

Guests tap an Ask button on your menu, online ordering page or booking page and chat. Your outlet switches it on or off and decides what it may do.

  • Answers from your menu

Dishes, ingredients, veg, vegan or Jain, spice, allergens, prices and opening hours. You can add your own answers, such as parking or kids' seating.

  • Guest always confirms

It builds an order or booking as a card and the guest taps Place order or Confirm. It never orders, pays or books on its own.

  • Live prices and stock

Prices, sold-out dishes and opening hours are read live, so it does not offer a dish you marked sold out.

  • Allergy care

It uses your allergen tags and tells guests to check with staff for severe allergies.

  • Try before guests do

A Try it tab lets you chat as a guest. Nothing is ordered or booked from the preview.

  • See what guests ask

Insights and conversations show what guests ask, what it sold and the questions it could not answer, so you can add answers.

Ask AirQR, the help assistant for your team

Staff can type a question such as how do I mark a dish sold out, and Ask AirQR answers from the AirQR help articles with the steps and screen names. It does not use AI credits. Each business gets a monthly number of questions shared by all staff, and the help articles stay open to read when they run out. It cannot see or change your business data, and if it is unsure it says so and sends you to support. See the help assistant article.

How AI credits work

AI work uses AI credits. AirQR includes a monthly allowance, and pricing shows how many. You can add more with a credit pack, or switch on pay as you go with a monthly limit you set. Every AI tool shows its cost in credits before you start.

  • Matching a spreadsheet's columns yourself and the Ask AirQR help assistant use no credits
  • You can cancel any AI job. The part in progress is refunded, finished pages, batches and photos are kept and the rest costs nothing
  • Only finished work is charged. If the AI fails, the credits are given back
  • The usage page shows every charge by day, feature and outlet, and you can download it as a CSV
  • Owners get an email and a dashboard banner as the month's credits run low and when they run out
  • When credits run out, AI pauses until you add more or the month resets. The AI waiter button tells guests it is taking a break, and ordering from the menu keeps working
  • An owner can cap the AI waiter's monthly credits per outlet so guest chat cannot use everything

Questions

How can AI help a restaurant in India?

In AirQR it turns a photo of your printed menu into a digital menu, draws dish photos, translates the menu into Hindi and 22 other languages, suggests logo and cover options and answers guest questions as an AI waiter. You review the results before they go live.

Can AI turn my printed menu into a digital menu?

Yes. Photograph each page, up to 6 at a time, or upload a PDF, Word or text file. AI reads the dishes, prices and sizes into a draft, and nothing goes live until you review it and press Import.

What are AI credits and what happens when they run out?

AI credits are what AI work uses up, such as reading a menu page or drawing a photo. When they run out, AI pauses until you buy a pack, turn on pay as you go or the month resets. Ordering from your menu is never affected.

Am I charged if I cancel an AI job or it fails?

No. You can cancel any AI job, and only finished work is charged. The part in progress is refunded, finished pages and photos are kept, and credits are returned if the AI fails.

Are AI-made dish photos good enough for my menu?

They are a good starting point for dishes you have no photo of, and a named drink keeps its real bottle shape and label colours. AI can still get details wrong, so check each photo and use your own photo where it matters.

Does the AI waiter place orders on its own?

No. It shows the order or booking as a card and the guest taps a button to confirm. Prices and sold-out dishes are read live, and it reminds guests to tell staff about severe allergies.

Can AirQR translate my menu into Hindi?

Yes. Add Hindi and AI translates every dish name and description. You read and edit it, then save. Guests choose their language from a button on the menu, and English stays the default.

Does the Ask AirQR help assistant use AI credits?

No. Ask AirQR answers your team's how-to questions from the help articles without using AI credits. Each business gets a monthly number of questions, and it sends you to support when it is unsure.
