FAQ about guests, QR codes and the menu
Do guests need to download an app or sign up? No. Guests scan the QR code with their phone camera and the menu opens in the browser. Takeaway and online orders only ask for a name and phone number.
Do I need to reprint QR codes when I change the menu or prices? No. Every QR code is dynamic. Menu, price and design changes show on every QR menu at once. See QR codes.
How do I stop guests ordering a dish that's finished? Mark it sold out (86) in Menu & QR → Menu builder. Guests stop seeing it immediately. Switch it back on when it's available again. See Sold out and availability.
Can guests read the menu in Hindi or other languages? Yes. Add languages in Menu & QR → Translations; guests pick one on the menu. See Menu translations.
Can I import my menu from Excel or a PDF? Yes. Menu & QR → Import menu reads CSV, Excel, PDF, Word and text files, or photos of your printed menu. It can split one file into a Bar and a Food menu, send drinks to the bar station and add short codes. Spreadsheets you match yourself use no AI credits. See Import your menu.
Can a dish cost more as a parcel? Yes. Set a Parcel price change on the dish. It applies to takeaway, delivery, online orders and parcel rounds. See Parcel pricing.
Can I show the menu without letting guests order? Yes. For a menu guests can only browse, turn off the Table QR ordering module (and Takeaway & counter pickup if it's on) in Settings → Modules. For a short break, for example a busy night, use Pause QR ordering in Settings → Ordering instead: guests can still browse the menu but can't order until you switch it off. See Modules and Outlet settings.
FAQ about orders, payments and commission
Does AirQR take a commission on orders? No. There's 0% commission on QR, takeaway and online orders. You pay only the monthly plan.
Does AirQR collect payments for me? Not yet. AirQR shows a UPI QR with the exact amount and records how each bill was paid, but the money goes straight to your own bank. Always check the UPI credit in your UPI app before recording it; never accept a screenshot as proof. Card and wallet payments through a payment gateway are planned. See Payments.
Can a guest at home order to a table? No. Table orders need the secret QR code on that table. See Private links and security.
How do I stop fake takeaway orders and no-shows? Use Settings → Order protection: open-order limits, pay-first rules and blocking. See Order protection.
What happens to an order nobody pays for? An order waiting for payment (pay first at the counter, or "Pay now by UPI" online) is cancelled on its own after the outlet's Cancel unpaid orders after time, 15 minutes unless you change it. The guest is told and can order again. Orders with a payment, an "I've paid" from the guest, or that you accepted are never cancelled this way. See Set up online ordering and Takeaway and tokens.
FAQ about devices, internet and printers
What if the internet goes down? The POS keeps taking dine-in and takeaway orders, printing KOTs and bills and taking payments on the counter device, and syncs everything when the connection is back. QR ordering and online orders need the internet. See Offline POS.
Is there a faster way to bill at a busy counter? Yes. Give dishes short codes (like BC) and staff type the code and press Enter on the POS, or 2*BC for two. For barcode scanners, save the product barcode in the dish's Scan code field and scanning adds the dish, and ? shows every keyboard shortcut. See Short codes and fast POS entry and Keyboard shortcuts.
Which printers work with AirQR? Standard 58 mm and 80 mm ESC/POS thermal printers (for example Epson, TVS, Posiflex, Everycom, Rugtek, Xprinter) over LAN/Wi-Fi, USB or Bluetooth. iPhones and iPads can't drive USB or Bluetooth printers; use a LAN/Wi-Fi printer with the print bridge. See Printing overview.
What devices do I need? Any phone, tablet or computer with a modern browser. Chrome or Edge is best for the print station and USB or Bluetooth printers.
FAQ about modules, roles and missing pages
What is a module? A part of AirQR you switch on or off as a whole, such as Reservations, Takeaway, Kitchen display or Loyalty. Your team only sees the modules you use. Owners manage them in Settings → Modules; nothing is deleted when one is off. See Modules: turn features on and off.
Where did the on/off switch for loyalty, online orders or the kiosk go? The module is now the only switch: turn Loyalty & rewards, Online ordering, Delivery, Self-order kiosk or AI waiter on or off in Settings → Modules. For a short break use a pause instead: Pause QR ordering, Pause bookings or Pause online orders.
How many modules can I use? Starter: 4 from its list. Growth: everything except Multiple outlets and the AI waiter. Pro and the free trial: everything. Owners can add a single module for a monthly fee. See Modules.
Why can't I (or my staff) see a page? Either its module is off, it isn't in your plan, or the person's role doesn't include it. See I can't see a page or a menu item.
Can I make my own staff roles? Yes. Owners make roles like "Senior waiter" in Staff → Roles, choosing exactly what each can see and do. See Staff roles: who sees what.
FAQ about staff and outlets
Can staff share one login? They shouldn't. Add each person from Admin → Staff with their own role, so you know who did what and can deactivate leavers the same day. Floor staff don't need an email: add them with a name, mobile and PIN, and give a login only to people who need to sign in themselves. See Staff, logins and roles and Staff roles: who sees what.
How many staff logins do I get? Starter 3, Growth 15, Pro unlimited (unlimited in the free trial). Everyone active on the Staff page counts, with or without a login; deactivated people don't.
Can I run more than one outlet? Yes, on the Pro plan (3 outlets included, extra outlets paid) or during the trial (up to 3). See Multiple outlets.
Can the dashboard be in Hindi? Yes. Choose हिन्दी under Language in your avatar menu, or use Device language in the same menu on a shared kitchen or POS screen. Printed KOTs and bills stay in English. See Using AirQR in Hindi.
FAQ about plans, billing and your data
What happens when my free trial ends? You get 7 more days of full access. After that the QR menu stays live as view-only, and ordering and other features pause until you choose a plan. Nothing is deleted. See Plans, trial and billing.
How do I pay for a plan? The owner chooses a plan in Avatar menu → Plan & billing and sends the request. AirQR confirms the price and puts an order on that page with the amount, the GST invoice details and how to pay (bank transfer or UPI in India). After you pay, the order shows "payment received, being verified"; once verified, the plan switches on and you get an email with its dates. See Paying for AirQR, renewals and invoices.
Can I cancel anytime? Yes. Use Cancel your subscription on Plan & billing. You keep access until the end of the paid period, and your data stays downloadable for 30 days.
Is my data safe, and can I take it with me? Only your own signed-in staff can see your orders, guests and reports. Owners and managers can download everything as CSV files from Settings → Export all data at any time, and the menu alone with Export CSV in the menu builder. To remove test orders or old data, the owner uses Settings → Clear data. See Exporting your data and Clear data and delete an outlet.
What are AI credits? Monthly credits for AI menu import (photos, PDF and Word files, and Sort with AI), AI dish descriptions, menu translation and the AI waiter: Starter 100, Growth 1,000, Pro 3,000 (300 in the trial). They reset on the 1st. Buy packs (from ₹499 for 1,000) or use pay as you go (₹0.60 a credit) for more. See AI credits.
